Toledo, OH Work Zone Web Site

The workzone had simlutaneous lane closures in each direction of travel. The images on the site are refreshed every 4 minutes; however for this demo it remains the same with each update. The workzone can be viewed as a 4-sensor/3-sign ADAPTIR system in all approaches to the lane closures (NE, NW & SW).

Since the website is not drawn to scale, it should be noted that the most distant sensors in each approach direction are approximately 3.5 to 4 miles from the end of the work zone, or 2 to 3 miles from the lane closure..The work zone varies from 1 to 2 miles in length, depending upon the state of the construction at the time..The sensors within the work zone are located 0.8 to 0.9 miles from the end of the work zone. The messages on the VMS are the actual messages that were displayed at the indicated times as a function of measured traffic conditions.
